Dr. Ioannis Fitilis works as adjunct lecturer and also participates in several research projects at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete since 2010. In 2002 he completed his bachelor degree in Physics at the University of Patras and he has continued for post-graduate studies in photonics at the University of Ioannina. In 2004 he started his PhD the research in the field of Optics at the University of Patras being awarded a fellowship from State Scholarship Foundation. This research led to the completion of the doctoral dissertation entitled “Two-photon absorption of new symmetric organic compounds and two-photon polymerization”.The publications of Dr. Fitilis in scientific journals have been cited more than 170 times from other researchers and achieve an h-index of 5.

(c) Non-linear absorption, two-photon microscopy and polymerization
(d) Optical and electrical characterization of materials
(e) Fiber optic lasers, fiber optic sensors

 IPPL is one of the access points of the National Research Infrastructure “ELI - LASERLAB Europe Synergy, HiPER & IPERION-CH.gr” (HELLAS-CH)

and the leader of the “Fundamental Science Program ” of the ESFRI research infrastructure HiPER.
